Abby Surya, from Kinshasa has been one of the most musically courted voice by Congolese singers and musicians in recent years.Abby Surya Djai started her career in 1984, alongside the well known Congolese female singer Abeti Masikini. The Redoutable, name of Abeti's band was the school that trained Abby Surya Djai. Soon after leaving the Redoutable, Abyy was sought after by famous Congolese singers who wanted to sing with her. Some of these famous singers included: Koffi Olomide, Papa Wemba, Sam Mangwana, Luambo Franco, Pepe Kalle, Tshala Muana, Mbilia Bel, Maika Munan, Suzy Kaseya, Aurlus Mabele, Mayaula Mayoni, Carlito Lasa, Lokua Kanza, and even Tabu Ley.
